xoxo – Gossip Girl.

Gossip girl, without the plotting, scheming, planning and backstabbing has quite the love story and lessons for one who watches the entire 6 seasons that GG has to offer.

GG has been one of the series that helps me through those little phases and moments that push me into believing the worst of relationships. People come into and leave our lives whilst others stay but there’s a lesson in every thing that comes our way.

Although I’ve been taught many of these lessons from my culture, studies, life experiences or those around me, here are some of the lessons I’ve learnt from Gossip Girl:

• a true bond of friendship never ends no matter how many ups and downs you may experience. (S&B)

• If you really care for someone you’ll always have their back no matter the rough patch you may be going through with them. (S&B; C&B; N)

• A person who truly loves will do everything in their power to help their love achieve their goals. Love will also motivate you to be successful yourself. (C&B)

• Mutual support, understanding and trust are the major contributors to a successful relationship. (C&B; S&D)

• Be true to who you are. Confidence is key. (D;B;C;Lil J)

• Work smart and you can achieve your goals. Always follow your passion; if you do what you love, you’ll love what you do and never have to work a day in your life. (D)

• Never make your spouse feel insecure or unworthy. (R&Lily)

• Always be there for your kids and never make them feel less of themselves. (Bart)

• Money can’t buy love. Be there for your kids. (Lily&Bart)

• If you put in an honest effort, you will reach where you want to be. (B; C; N)

• Say NO to drugs, alcohol and boys! It does NOT end well (LOL). (S&G)

• You don’t need a guy to make you feel complete. You can work your way up to success and fulfillment on your own. Wait till marriage. (S)

• Never put your friends down or make them the footing of your ladder. That’s not what friendship is all about. Instead, be there for them and help each other climb the ladder to success and happiness. (D; Everyone)

• Heartbreak should make you stronger, not weaker. Don’t allow yourself to be too vulnerable and fall into the wrong arms; instead, let it teach you and build you up. (B;S)

And finally…

• LOVE DOES EXIST – whether it’s in the form of friendship or a relationship for which you are willing to wait or sacrifice that which you desire most. Just be patient and work to be successful individuals that can work on a successful relationship.

• What’s meant for you will definitely come your way. Have faith in your love. xx

I could go on… but let’s leave it at this before I end up watching the entire 6 seasons all over again…
